wrongful conviction scares the shit out of me and this story will stay with me for a long time. since i first picked it up i haven't been able to stop thinking about it ... i've read everything i can find online and watched all three paradise lost documentaries within 24 hours. it seriously terrifies me to think this kind of thing can and DOES happen, all because of small-minded prejudice. because of being "different".damien echols is amazing to me. he writes beautifully and is so brave and brutally honest. if there is any fault to this book, it's the fact that i wish it was longer. i hope he continues to write.
i've lost faith in the justice system but, in a way, gained some faith in humanity.
